What is Telegram Ads and how does it work?

In this guide

Telegram Ads is Telegram’s official advertising platform. You create ads in an ad account, choose where they can appear and track campaign results. The official Telegram guide describes placements in public channels with at least 1,000 subscribers.

How is it different from buying channel placements?

With a paid channel placement, you negotiate with each channel owner. Telegram Ads lets you manage ads through one account and select eligible placements by topic, language and location. The platform serves ads according to those settings.

Where can an ad send people?

  • A Telegram channel, if you want to grow an audience.
  • A Telegram bot, if you want to collect enquiries or guide people through a flow.

External website links depend on the ad account and access route you use. Telegram’s official self-service guidance allows Telegram channels and bots but excludes external sites. Check the rules for your account before planning a website-led campaign.

Is Telegram Ads right for your business?

It can work where the audience already uses Telegram, from education and finance to technology, property and B2B services. The useful question is not whether the platform works in general. It is whether your offer, audience, destination and test budget fit together.
